In the latest episode of the Visual Climber Podcast, host Simeon Balsam chats with Dan Dass, the founder of Reecoil, about how the brand started.
Recorded in Hertfordshire during Dan’s recent trip to the UK, this episode dives into how Reecoil grew from a garage project into a well-known worldwide name in arborist gear.
Dan, originally a UK-based arborist who moved to Australia, noticed there weren’t any tool lanyards on the market that really did the job. So, frustrated with what was out there, he and his friend Timmy decided to make their own. With just a $50 secondhand sewing machine, they created the FULL-REACH Lanyard to tackle the everyday challenges faced by workers in tough, hands-on jobs.
What started as a side project for themselves and a few mates quickly gained attention. Retailers began reaching out, and before long, Reecoil was born. Today, the Reecoil brand is available in more than 70 stores across 19 countries.
With innovation at the helm, anything is possible.
Dan’s journey from arborist to entrepreneur shows how powerful it can be when people with real-world experience set out to solve real-world problems.
His story is a great example of how innovation often starts with just a simple idea and a bit of can-do spirit.
